The river level is updated throughout the day by the Environment Agency. Normally twice a day but extra updates occur when the river rises sharply! Times are GMT. The measuring stations upriver are also included which will show the level that’s on it’s way down to Burrs over the next few hours.
BURY GROUND STATION (JUST DOWN FROM BURRS)

CALIBRATION
23cm = This is the bottom of the ‘typical range’ on the chart. Burrs is a scrape but playspot is deep enough for flat water playboating.
37cm = Burrs is low but can be paddled without scraping.
42cm = High Low level. Rammie run just possible. May be a scrape in places.
70cm = High Level. Photo 1 – Burrs Bridge. Photo 2 – Burrs Broken Weir. Photo 3 – Burrs top wave
75cm = High level. Big weir only doable down the steps which will have turned into just 2 big steps
78cm = High Level. Broken weir all the way across river with very small eddy. Possible backloop on wave in Nutall gorge in playboats! TNT wave working. Big weir only doable down steps.
118cm = BIG! Wave under Burrs road bridge working as a playspot. Broken weir surfable from either side of river. Everything else washed out at Burrs. Big weir was a no go!
134cm – HUGE!
Calibration will be updated/refined when we get more rain! Please leave a comment if you have a calibration update.
